The transition into motherhood is immense. The body changes, hormones change and shift, and life completely changes with birth. For these reasons (and others), maternal mental health professionals play an integral role during the childbearing years.
While "baby blues" are common and tend to resolve on their own by 2-6 weeks postpartum, there are many moms who also experience postpartum anxiety and/or postpartum depression. Luckily, there are also many treatments available to help women feel more like themselves again. If you are feeling overwhelmed, reach out!
